David and company are the best company I have ever dealt with in any type of business. That says a lot about them. There service is second to none and the techs know what they are doing and fix it right. I bought my last coach there and sold one there as well. I have had friends who have sold coaches there as well. I count all of the people there as friends. I can call anytime and they will be happy to hear from me and bend over backwards to help. I think they are what any dealer or any business would strive to be.

I have never bought a MH from them but they have bent over backwards to help me out with tech issues and parts. They know MH's, especially Foretravels. When I get ready to buy another MH I would not consider any other dealer and I live in Georgia. Go For it. If you get a FT be sure to visit the Foretravel Forum on Yahoo.

Mike,

Not sure any of us know the facts-- I know I don't.

It is my understanding that Foretravel decided to discontinue selling factory direct/through factory owned stores and to only sell new coaches through independent dealerships. They set Motorhomes of Texas up as one of several retail dealers nationwide with MOT located a few blocks from the Foretravel factory.

Then, under the new owner, Foretravel made a decision to return to selling factory direct. Obviously, that would not work with a retail dealer a few blocks away.

David (MOT) is no longer a new Foretravel dealer. But he has a large used, consignment, service and parts business.

Not sure I would conclude there was anything other than a re-think of how Foretravel did their marketing without some FACTS.

Both the Foretravel factory and MOT continue to do good business and I am comfortable working with either/both of them.

Purchased our 04 U320 Foretravel from Motorhomes of Texas. David and his staff are good people. You will be satisfied with the process. Foretravel discontinued using MOT as a dealer/warranty service center about a year ago. It was a business decision, not a negative issue with MOT.
Sincerely,
Reese Cantrell

Foretravel sues Motorhomes of Texas
Posted: Jul 10, 2008 7:57 PM EDT

NACOGDOCHES, TX - (KTRE) A defamation lawsuit has been filed by Foretravel against one of its former employees. The luxury motorhome manufacturer is suing Motorhomes of Texas. Foretravel claims that Motorhomes of Texas owner David Robertson gave John Christman, an owner of a Foretravel motorcoach, the "go ahead" to publish insulting remarks about Foretravel and company owner, Lyle Reed, on a Foretravel members only website.

Foretravel claims Motorhomes wrote that Foretravel is doing "everything in its power to squeeze the life blood out of Motorhomes of Texas". Foretravel is seeking to drop Motorhomes as a dealer.

Foretravel executives were not available for comment. The company's attorney wouldn't speak publicly about the suit. Robertson denies all the allegations. By phone he said he's confident an amicable agreement will be reached within 30 days. Robertson said he supports Foretravel 100 % and wants what's good for the industry.
