I can certainly tell you that three kids and carpet aren't compatible. My camper had carpet in it, but it had to go after a spring break camping trip.

Maybe when we have an empty nest I can have carpet.

I di.d the same thing a few years ago. Made a pattern with squares of stiff paper and a hot glue gun. Cut out a second carpet but haven't needed to install it yet

Wow nice fit,

It'a good idea. I bought a Northern Lite 3 weeks ago. I'm looking forward to install a carpet.

Thank you for the information.

I have partial carpet & linoleum with throw rugs in my TC. It's nice having the carpet where your feet 1st hit the floor in the morning & sitting at the table. However the throw rugs are better for us to keep it clean when 1st entering the tc. The dog likes the carpeted area for those cold nites & the linoleum for warm nites.

Nice job, Photomike!

I installed carpeting in the two previous campers and liked it, but DW does not want it in the current one. She says it's too hard to keep clean compared to linoleum. We'll see...

We use runners. I'm pretty sure I don't want carpet since it was a pain in the other RVs we've had.

We've always used throw rugs, different sizes to cover most of the floor. Always looked messy, never liked though easy to take out and shake. Recently we also added 1 piece carpet to cover the floor. We really like it.

Stumbled upon at Cosco, I was standing, 'guarding the cart' while Margaret disappeared into another aisle, Looking around I noted I'm in the throw rug section. There's a stack of un backed stuff 6'x8'. Hmm I could cut a one piece and get rid of the runners, its lite and can easily be removed. I used it to also cover the top of water tank box and slide step. Makes the inside of the camper look huge. The no backing was a minus but was also cheap so though washable its also replaceable.
Used to be able to get the rubber foam backed indoor outdoor, that would be a good candidate for camper carpet for easy removal.

OP's warm feet title reminded me that us boyscouts when younger would put a fairly large size rock in the campfire before turning in for the night. We would then take it out of the fire, wrap it in a towel and place it in the bottom of our bunk for the those cold nights. Kept our toes toastie.

We lucked out. Right after we bought our Lance, we were in a JC Penney outlet store and ran across a piece of dark green rubber backed bathroom carpet that had been returned. It was the perfect color and size to do the truck camper. Only cost about $25.oo.
