I have a 07 Dodge 2500 HD 5.9 diesel and my son has a 06 Dodge 3500 5.9 diesel. The trucks have the same driveline, tires, spring leafs ect. The only difference we can see is the rear overload spring on the 3500. Is there any other difference between the trucks and if not would air bags would make them even?

That's it unless your son has DRW. You can go to a spring shop and have the 3500 spring pack added to your truck or add air bags. Me I would add the spring pack if you need it.

Thats about it. Overload springs, 3500 emblems, and increased GVWR.

That's about it. If your son has a DRW, with a 3500 DRW you get the added pleasure of having an increased GVWR which you can never have too much of as well as driving a more massive Mac Daddy truck!!! IMHO: 2500 vs. 3500 DRW? No question; a 3500 DRW.
