Just got a 99 Winnie Chieftain 34y. It has a bedroom slide where the water fill should be on the outside of the vehicle as the maual states. My question is, do you fill your fresh water tank at the city water fill inlet. If so, how do you sanitize your tank?

thanks

Just pour some bleach into the Hose before hooking it to the Tap. It only takes about a teaspoon full of Bleach for each 5 gallons to be effective. I never measure just pour in a few "cap-fuls " if the Tank is Empty ! That's CAP NOT CUP!

If You can smell the chlorine You have used too much!

You can probably find the specified amount of clorox to use in your book for your specific sized tank. Locations in the manuals are pretty generic so don't expect to find everything exactly where they say it.

Once you find the correct amount, pour it in your hose aqnd fill the tank.

Yes, you should be able to fill from the city water hookup. Look for a valve knob or lever in the water service bay.

Place a small amount of bleach in the water hose prior to connecting to the faucet. Fill tank until full. Turn on pump and let water run at sinks until your smell the bleach. Close faucets. Let stand over night. Drain tank and fill and rinse several times before adding water to tank for use.

City water hookup on ours is in the utility compartmenton the street side. The tank fill is on the street side wall a bit ahead and above the fresh water tank compartment. It is behind a small door with a key latch.

I would call Winnebago Industries at (800)-537-1885 and ask them. They will want to know
complete 12 digit serial number, date of purchase and selling dealers name. But as long as you have the 12 digit serial number, they should be happy enough to help you.

Easier than calling, just look for yourself.

Looks like you don't have a gravity fill. Some Winnebagos don't.
