I have had a Monaco Windsor 1996 for a couple of years now. It has a 275 hp cummins with 6 speed Allison transmission with an exhaust brake (I think) I do not know how to use the brake, and now it appears to be on, but I cannot turn it off. How do you turn it off, and is there any problems with leaving it on? It is suppose to help stop the coach right? And if it is so good at that and helpful, why wouldn't I want it on all the time?
Thanks,
Pat

A friend has a 1996 windsor and he has a "peddle" on the floor to the left of the brake. I think it is an air operated peddle.

The PacBrake is on all the time. When you want to use it depress the pedal to the left of the steering column. The brake will automatically be activated. However, if your cruise control is ON the brake will not activate. Also, you cannot be using the throttle in order for it to work. I replaced my original PacBrake with the new PRXB, an easy upgrade, and found the stopping power to be tripled. I rarely use my service brakes. I have over 110,000 miles on my coach and still have almost 70% of the original brakes......let me know if you need any other help. My coach is a Dynasty but I have all the original manuals and papers from when it was built. ....Dennis

You would not want it on if you were driving in rain, ice or snow as it could cause the rear wheels to lock up and here you go sliding all over the place and hitting something or somebody. Don't take chances....

there is a pedal there, but I step on it and nothing happens. Do you have to step on it at a certain time, like in neutral or a certain gear?
thanks
