I have our GPS mounted on the dash just below the mirror, that way either the driver or the passenger can reach the touch. Works fine in that location.

Garmin makes a magnetic wireless (blue tooth) receiver that you can put on the front fender and send to a laptop running any number of programs.

I tried the search box but class a and truck campers came up with most of the posts and my class c looks likeit has a larger overhang than the truck campers. I may have done the search wrong. Any way wife is loving more than me so far she uses it to track where we are and the route we are on instead of thumbing thru the map.

We went to Gatlinburg last week and we had my Garmin Nuvi with traffic control alerts on my bean bag mount on the front dash with no problem in reception. Our friend had his mounted with the suction cup on the dinette window so he could follow along as we went down the road.

I stick my Garmin in the center of the windshield and it works with no problem.

I did notice that on a narrow road with heavy trees on either side of the road on rare occasion it would loose satellite signal, but it came right back very quickly.

We have our Garmin on the beanbag in the middle of the dash -- the windshield is too far off for convenient use. The only time we lost the signal was along I40 in New Mexico/Arizona when it went completely wonky before admitting it was lost. It picked up the signal again a few hours later, but in the meantime it wouldn't read even pushed to the window.
