RE: 2003 E450 brake pads - which pads?

It wasn't just early morning driving. Even just cruising on the freeway for extended periods would cool the pads to the point they would be worthless when you first stabbed the brakes.
I believe the difference between standard and Superduty pads is organic vs. semi-metallic.
It has been my experience that high-performance pads are less effective (or not effective) when cold, such as your cruising the freeway example. Cold mornings just make it worse.
The description of the pads, in my original posting, came from Rock Auto's site and indicates that the standard and Super Duty pad are both semi-metallic.
Searching has provided no useful information yet. If I have time next week, I will remove the pads from one of the front brakes and see if any useful numbers are stamped on them.
If anything comes of this search, I will post the results for future reference.

2003 E450 brake pads - which pads?

At 50,000 miles, my 2003 E450 is ready for a brake job. The seven-year-old pads still have some life but they are starting to squeal at low speeds.
I’m happy with the performance of the stock pads and want to use the same type of pad as replacements. The OEM pads have good bite when cold, an important consideration since we travel a lot in the winter, in cold areas.
Looking at Rock Auto’s site, I see two different MOTORCRAFT pads, a standard and a Super Duty.
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php
MOTORCRAFT Part # BR48B {#2U2Z2V001VA} Integrally Molded;Semi-Metallic; Front
MOTORCRAFT Part # BR51 {#XU2Z2V001AVA} Integrally Molded; Semi-Metallic; Rear
MOTORCRAFT Part # BRSD655 {Super Duty #2U2Z2V001AG} Integrally Molded; Semi-Metallic; Front
MOTORCRAFT Part # BRSD411 {Super Duty #2U2Z2V001AH} Integrally Molded; Semi-Metallic; Rear
Anyone know for sure which, it either, Ford used? Was there a Super Duty brake option?
Is they any way to determine which pad was used?…VIN or marking on the Spec plate?
The Super Duty pads do cost more but I do not plan on doing this job again soon and would prefer the best brakes possible. I do want them to stop well when the brakes are cold, such as when cruising on a cold winter morning.
