DISASTERS
__________
A little political review . . . From a Navy man!
After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which
killed 6 and injured 1,000
-- President Clinton promised that those responsible
would be hunted down and punished.
After the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed 5
U.S. military personnel
-- Clinton promised that those responsible would be
hunted down and punished.
After the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia,
which killed 19 and injured 200 U.S. military personnel
-- Clinton promised that those responsible would be
hunted down and punished.
After the 1998 bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa,
which killed 224 and injured 5,000
-- Clinton promised that those responsible would be
hunted down and punished.
After the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed
17 and injured 39 U.S. sailors
-- Clinton promised that those responsible would be
hunted down and punished.
Maybe if Clinton had kept his promises, perhaps many of
the 3,000+ people who died in New York City, NY and
Washington, DC on 9-11-2001 would be alive today.
AN INTERESTING QUESTION:
This question was raised on a
Philly radio call-in show. Without casting stones, it
is a legitimate question. There are two men, both
extremely wealthy. One develops relatively cheap
software and gives billions of dollars to charity. The
other sponsors terrorism. That being the case, why was
it that the Clinton Administration spent more money
chasing down Bill Gates for eight years than
Osama bin Laden?
THINK ABOUT THIS ! ! !
It is a strange turn of events.
Hillary gets $8 Million for her forthcoming memoirs.
Bill gets about $12 Million for his memoirs.
This from two people who spent 8 years being unable
to recall anything about past events while under oath!
Sincerely,
Cmdr. Hamilton McWhorter USN(ret)
P. S. We don't want this woman to even THINK of running for President.

I agree 100%.
As to their chasing Bill Gates, they just can't stand anyone being more successful than they are.
In addition to which the DOJ's harassment of Microsoft cost thousands of share holders millions of dollars, and did great damage to many pension plans, both individual and collective.

WRONG 5thwheeler!
It was the Bush Republican Administration that brought these scandals to light. If Clinton wanted to fix corruption he would have!

You are welcome to believe anything you like, but there is no confusion about the fact that there was a lot of money lost by investors due to the action of the DOJ.
I agree that the others you mentioned managed to create financial disasters without the assistance of the DOJ.

Some day you folks are going to come to grips with the fact that President Clinton was elected and beat conservative Republicans twice. You are also going to come to grips with the fact that Senator Clinton was elected and that none of those elections needed Court interpretation to be complete.
Isn't it about time to stop the whining? Does victory happen so seldom for conservatives that they feel that the arrogant bragging must go on and on?
I have a feeling that it is statements such as the ones by Cmdr. Hamilton McWhorter USN(ret) that cause many bright young people to loath the military. Real leadership like that given by General Schwartzkopf does just the opposite.

I have been intimately involved with Microsoft business practices. They would make Tony Soprano blush. These practices were documented in court by MS own internal communications. Because a judge couldn't keep his mouth shut & the DOJ wimped out under Republican rule, MS got off the hook with barely a slap on the wrist and little or nothing to keep them from doing the same all over again.
If there is any justice Linux will put them out of business in a few more years. I am doing my best to see that happens.

colo, you sound very bitter with your last post. It is a statement of our times that someone with the skills of b.s. that bill klinton possessed, would get elected once, but he was elected twice. The guy was a vile, crud meister to whom I wouldn't sell my snot. I have no contempt for any other politician to the extent that I hold for bill and his wife. You comment on amplifies the state of this country, the ignorance of the electorate, thanks in no small part to the pi$$ poor education in the government schools. It isn't going to get any better, so don't worry. Your boy, Richard or Tommy or Teddy, or some other leftist will most likely be elected next by this Jerry Springer / Survivor electorate.

Inspector,
Wow! Would you tell us how you really feel?
No, I wasn't attempting to sound particularly bitter and hopefully as part of the electorate, not "ignorant" as you seem to imply.
I'm bothered that you are as negative about United States' society as you are. I won't say as I often hear conservative say, "if you don't like it, leave." Hopefully, something nice will happen in your life to ease your frustration.
I was attempting to sound much like many conservatives who say almost the same words in defense of President Bush. It does sound rather uneducated and uniformed doesn't it?
Edit to change tho to who. The doggone spell check just won't to check to see if I have used the word I wanted to use.
