We stayed at Pickenville one time and it was a nice park as stated above. They do have several waterfront sites so U can watch the tows go by. Would go back again. It is my understanding that they stay pretty busy so reservations are needed in advance during the peak camping season. have fun,

Ditto on Pickensville. We have stayed there a couple of times and also visited gate attendants up there when we were attendants.

Looks like Foscue has the vote. We are headed there the first weekend in Feb. I am excited to be meeting my family for their first camping trip. Heir Max thanks so much for the site suggestions. Planning to reserve tomorrow.

You will be happy with Foscue, watch your speed around town and on HWY 80. As with a lot of small towns they enforce the speed limits. Enjoy.

Thanks katfish. Always appreciate warnings for the heavy foot. Will tell GV to lighten up on the gas.

bigsiscc,
Fella I've been knowing about 55 years, along with his wife, are gate attendants at Foscue. They will be moving over to Jennings Ferry 27th of Feb but they should be there, if they are working that weekend. Mack and Lennie Whatley. Tell them Jerry Stewart, Steve, and kamperman45 recommended Foscue.

I ran across your post while "lurking around" tonight. I recently started going to Jennings Ferry and it has become my favorite place for a quick get away. We have been there three times since Labor Day and have become very fond of Mack and Lennie. They are truly nice folks and do a great job as camp hosts. You can tell without a doubt that they enjoy what they do.

K,
Sitting in Wichita, KS right now at our sons house. We are in the street, hooked up on his power and water. We have been at Mammoth General Store in Yellowstone, working for six months. It will be good to get home. I had completely forgotten about this thread. Good to read through it again. I have wondered how Mack and Lennie are doing. I have his number programmed in my phone so there is no reason why I shouldn't know. Just lazy I guess. If you get that way soon, tell them we said hello.
