Your signature picture is too big. It must be less than 30kb. There is also a width restriction but I cannot remember what it is.

Until this past weekend, almost 100% of the time the error message was cause by the picture being larger than the allowed maximums.

Maximum width = 500 pixels
Maximum height = 100 pixels
Maximum file size = 30,000 bytes

This past weekend, the picture server was rejecting all pictures. I was able to upload pictures from the RV.Net portal, yesterday, but not from the Trailer Life postal.

Tom

On edit: Changed 'KB' to 'bytes.'

Wouldn't that work out to about 29.3 Megs?

(1024 kb in a mb)

I have edited the post to change KB to bytes. I had started to write '30 KB' and then changed to 30 to 30,000 because the forum use a decicmal value instead f a binary one.

Hi,

Thanks for your replies and help. I finally had to resize to 132X100, as my Canon resize program will not let me chose 500X100. If you have any suggestions in that regard, they would surely be appreciated.

Please know that I am sometimes technically challenged, so please keep your terminology simple.

Thanks again,
Dawn

In resizing pictures, one does not resize both dimensions. You should resize one and let the software take care of the other. Otherwise, the picture would be distorted. Note: Cropping and resizing are not the same. You can crop to exactly 500 X 100, but the chances of haveing exactly what you want in the picture are slim.
