I bought one (on its way) and was wondering if I could use my phone 110v charger with USB connection to charge the Garmin.

Most new Garmins are able to be charged by plugging into the USB port. You can download the manual from Garmin and see for sure. It's also a good way to get to know the GPS before you actually get it.

Thanks RicJones.
I did download and read the manual and was hoping it would give some sort of volt requirments or limitations for charging with 110 but they didn't.
They sell one but it also has to use the car charger. . . sort of a strange setup.
I'll try the cell phone charger and see what happens.
Thanks again,
Ken

According to the 1350's manual you have 3 ways to charge it. 1. Car charger 2. AC adapter 3. USB hooked up to a computer that's turned on. You should get the USB cable with the unit.

USB is a standard. Any power supply with a USB plug will charge your Garmin. I use my cell phone charger on my Nuvi 1490.

Just a word of caution. The USB standard is 5 volts BUT, there are power supplies with USB connectors out there that don't adhere to the standard. Always check the output voltage before you plug anything except the original equipment into them.

Ok, thanks. Power output is 5v so I appear to be ok.
Have it charging now and so far all is well.
Thanks again,
Ken
