In our travels to escape the cold and snow, we ended up in Foley Alabama. We found the best RV Resort. It is called "Anchors Aweigh" off Highway 59 on Country Road 20 South. The park is about three years old. You're about seven minutes from the beaches at the gulf coast, minutes away from Mobile Alabama and Pensacola, Florida. The resort has many planned activities for everyone. The owners are unbelievable. They go the extra mile to make sure that your stay is memorable. You will never be bored or have a lack of anything to do here. We're staying until March, but we'll be coming back again winter. Thought I'd pass it along, cause great places are had to find..... You can find them at this link. All the information is there. http://www.anchorsaweighrvresort.com/

can't wait to be on the road again.

Two words: Throwed Rolls.

Go around 4 PM during the week, that way you miss the crowds.

Have fun.

Yea, it's one of those places you go to maybe once or twice, then you're probably done with it.

Still worth going at least once though.

We have stayed there and also really enjoyed it.. The owners and staff went above and beyond, when we were there. Also checked on us and offered assistance in setting up the 5th wheeler. Will be going back in June.....

We agree this is our second year at Anchors Aweigh, and will be here until the end of Mar 2010. Just a great RV park and management is second to none. If you decide to come to Anchors Aweigh in Jan and Feb make sure you call, they are normaly book for those two months. But if your lucky there might be a cancelation. All sites are concrete, our site is 80 or 90 feet. We have our 38' Mobile Suites, Freightliner M2 and the Chevy HHR parked on our site and room to park guest also. Your also close to the Beach and all kinds of shopping. GBY...

I just looked at their web site are these rates for real 5-600 for a Month? Weekly rates are in the area of $200.00. Monthly rate looks too low?

Yes and the first new Car I bought cost $2,900. You pay for what you want. There are parks that you don't pay for at all, but thats what you get nothing. Anchors Aweigh isn't for everyone. But we really don't have to worry about trees ripping the top, and being parked on top of each other. This is just what we prefer, and other prefer other things. I have no desire to go Camping, I had rather be RVing. I did plenty camping while in the Army for 26 years. Life is good. GBY....

I was just pointing out that they have almost doubled their rates in the three years that they have been open. It is a great park we stayed there the first year they were open. I wasn't knocking them, you charge what the market will bear and apparently it's now in the 600 dollar range, and good for them as I recall they were a really nice young couple that were working their butts off to get it off the ground, we haven't been back to that area for three years now.
