Has anyone used Gel Gloss on their MH? We have owned our 36' MH for one year. In that time we have had it buffed and waxed twice. But no one ever came close to the 1x2' section the previous owner had done prior.
I finally got a hold of him the other day and he said he used Gel Gloss and applied it by hand. I have to tell you that it has a great shine and all the oxidation is gone.
But a small area is one thing. Before I attempt the whole motorhome I would appreciate some advice from some owners that might have used this product.
Thanks, Jim

Look up Poliglo on the web. Been using it for years on the MH and my sailboat. Unbelievable stuff. Never wax again.

I use it only the gel coated fiberglass roof. I use Meguiars #21 Synthetic Sealant (or Meguiars NXT) on the rest of the clear coat painted surfaces. Both are applied with with a Porter Cable 7424 RO polisher at 2500rpm and removed by hand with a microfiber towels twice a year.

Used to use it on my 1st TT, since the front faced south all summer & the oxidation got bad
Can be a bit hard to remove, so on a 36' MH, you'll probably want a powered buffer handy. I used a cheap 6" orbital type
DO NOT use it over decals!. There's petrolium distillates in Gel Gloss and it'll start your decals pealing
As Rob&sue mentioned, a coat of good paste wax makes a big difference afterwards

I have had mine for almost 5 years and use it on our 4 vehicles and our fiberglass TT. Meguires NXT works well..... Nu-Finish also works great. If you can find Satin Gloss locally it is well worth it! If you can't find it locally, order it online. My neighbor used to use Gel Gloss until he tried my Satin Gloss. He ordered some and won't turn back! It is a pure carnuba based cleaner wax. Easy on, easy off. I learned about this product at a professional detail shop. I usually buy mine at the car show they have at Lowes Motor Speedway twice a year.

Hi,
Gel Gloss is used to take chalking off of gel coat on fiberglass. You will not get any shine if you have chalking. We used gel gloss on the boat and our motorhome only when chalking becomes a problem.
I use a good wax after to protect the finish. You can use a buffer but understand that gel gloss is like a fine buffing compound. We put it on by hand and seems to work ok.
We don't use wax on motorhome now as last summer we cleaned and used Poli-Glow. Put on 6 coats and it is still shinny. Will aply 2 coats when we get to TX for the winter.
Good luck

My fiver is 11 years old, and I have used Gel Gloss on it during that time. It is easy to apply, and really takes the bugs and black streaks off quite easily. As for the decals, I have had no peeling problems as I have apply the Gel Gloss over them throughout the years.

I use Gel Gloss also. Works good and a lot cheaper at Home Depot.

The Gel Gloss that you get at the RV store while more expensive than the Gel Gloss from Home Depot has UV protectants in it that the GG sold for your shower at Home Depot does not have. Gel Gloss RV is what I use and it has not hurt my decals.

I've been using it for years. Also great for scratches. Our motorhome is eight years old and still looks like new.
