I had a funky trailer brake problem last night. Taking my 5er home from storage, when comming to a stop I was getting a surging brake problem. I noticed that my truck brake lights were going on and off (flickering) when my foot was firmly on the peddle. That was the reason for the trailer brakes surging. When I got home I checked the plug in the bed of the truck, OK checked fuses, OK. I thought maybe a shorted wire in the trailer, maybe in the axels or something. Found the problem. In the truck, there was a large loom comming through the firewall and was resting on the brake peddle/light sensor/switch. Every time I pushed on the brake the sensor was being tweeked making the tail lights flicker. Never noticed any problems without the trailer hooked up. I moved the loom and tie wraped it and problem solved.
anyway, just thought I'd post and give others a heads up.
