If you hit the slide out button before you realize that there is a large non-moving object in the way(ie tree, house, etc) Can you hit the slide out button again to stop the process? And if you hit it again would it come back in? Or are you out of luck and once pushed there's no stopping it. I know silly question laugh away but I know this will happen sometime..
Thanks,

My switch only operates when pushed. If I let off, the slide stops.

Any switch I have known is only active by either by holding a key or pushing a button.

the slide out control for the 2000 Newmar 4091 coach has 2 positions, "slide out" and "Slide In" it can be reversed by placing the switch in the other position anywhere in its travel.

My DW operates the slide out buttons. BUT.... only if she hears the knock, knock, knock on the outside wall when I give her the all-clear. This works for both going out or coming in.

Mine also stops when released but my friends coach a Dutchstar is automatic you push the button and it says something like slide will activate in 5 seconds...and then it goes out I believe you can stop it by pushing slide in button ,,so there are some variations on them depending on the unit...

Mine has a momentary contact, one hit to start it moving and you let it go. If you depress it again mid-travel, the slide will stop. If it is depressed the third time the slide will retract. The slide controller monitors the motor current, so if it hits a fixed object the motor current would go up and the slide would stop. That's what normally stops it when it is being extended or retracted. Also, it will not extend if the engine is running.

As wandering1 stated...."Try it and see."

Yes. If you have only one button and push it in error, push it again and it will stop extending.
