I have 550 lbs. tounge wieght. Not bad but would prefer just under 500. Has anyone found a toolbox or mountable container, to load stuff in , for the back bumper of your trailers?

Correcting tongue weight by adding more weight may overload your axles and frame. I'd try redistributing the existing weight or removing weight from the tongue first.

If you put a 150 lb. tool box on the back to unload 75 lbs on the tongue, you'll add 225 lbs. to the axle.
As long as the axle can take the weight, and the trailer is still under the GVWR for the trailer, it should work just fine.

Why are you so concerned about a few less pounds on the tongue? If it's important just take some weight and carry it in the tow vehicle.

Note you want tongue weight to be about 13% of the trailer fully loaded weight. What is fully loaded weight? If tongue is too light, you are much more apt to get SWAY.
Also weight added to rear of trailer increases likelyhood of SWAY.
Be careful out there.

How about a receiver hitch welded to the frame so you can use a cargo carrier on the rear of your PU for some of your load?

2nd that! I carelessly loaded up one time and had to much weight behind the axles and caused the trailer to be real twitchy. Can you take the LP tank off of the tongue or something like that? Good luck and happy camping!!!!
