I have a 2007 Montana Big Sky 3400 fifthwheel that I would like to haul a motorcycle on the back of it. It has a slide hitch on it and I want to put a cycle rack in to it. I have bought the motorcycle yet but I was thinking on about a 300# bike. Has anybody done that with this rig? I would appreciate any help you guys can give me.

Do you mean like a bike rack? or a tandem trailer?

I don't think any 5th wheel frame is strong enough to take 300 lbs of dead weight back there.

I agree with weight back there being a bit high. I would also check your CCC for your 5er. I thought a couple of other Montana's had a low cargo carrying cap. It might have been a different year or model. I think his name was richfaa and he had many posts on the Lippert post. Good luck

The 07 Montana's went to 7K axles... so have a higher CC..but ..doing what you suggest is not recommended and I think that OEM hitch is a 1 1/4 inch hitch and flimsy looking. I don't think it would even support 300lbs.

I carry a 300lb scooter on back of my 5er with the help of a swivelwheel mounted to my carrier. Go to doublehitch.com and you'll get the idea.

NuWa older Young's 14 inch C-channel frame's will handle a 300 lb scooter if your hitch is installed correctly. Will cost you $$$$$ to do it right. There was a full dress Harley on the tail of a 5th wheel(Lippert frame) at NHRA Indy in Sept. The system had broken on there maiden voyage. Repair in Oregon on the hitch was 5 days down and $1700. This was a very risky tow with more damage to occur. Combination of Bridges and G-Forces will cause most of the damage.

There are tons of motorcycle hitchs that fit into a standard 2" reciever. Just have a hitch put on by a professional and you will be fine.
