U.S. Car Says It's Making Progress
The United States Council for Automotive Research (U.S. Car) Vehicle Recycling Partnership (VRP) says it is making progress toward attaining nearly 100 percent recycling of the materials used in cars. According to the VRP, 95 percent of all vehicles in the United States go through a market-driven recycling infrastructure with more than 75 percent of each vehicle's weight being recycled.

Bringing that figure up to nearly 100 percent will be a difficult task, but it is a goal the organization has set for achievement in its Roadmap 2015 plan.
