Magellan’s new GPS 310 is said to be the first entry-level, handheld GPS receiver in the lower retail price range to offer a 12 parallel-channel receiver in a waterproof, floating unit. It allows the user to record up to 100 locations, and accepts real-time correction data for accuracy within 5 meters. Features include a resettable trip odometer, three easy-to-follow navigation screens and compatibility with most popular PC navigation software. Two AA batteries will keep it running for up to 20 continuous hours.
