Scott Curtis, designer for West Coast Leisure Homes in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada,
helped create an all-new camper design, something unlike any existing truck camper. And
that was the birth of Okanagan’s Ultimate Suite camper. The revolutionary design of the
Ultimate Suite camper is based upon the concept of having a full-size slideout on each side
of the camper, not just the mini-slides that are already common in the industry. The
full-size slides open up the interior enough to provide room for luxurious amenities such
as a horseshoe dinette with elliptical table, a spacious bathroom with a separate shower, a
wardrobe for hanging clothing and an optional fireplace. According to company
representatives, at the debut of the Ultimate Suite camper at the Louisville trade show,
one person went in to look, then came back outside to make sure she was in a camper and not
a fifth-wheel. In addition to the extra roominess, the Ultimate Suite features the
refrigerator in the slideout, approximately 44 cubic feet of storage space, solar
reflective thermal-pane windows, insulated and heated enclosures for the holding tanks and
1-inch blue SM high-density foam insulation that makes this a four-season camper. Chris
Epp, president of West Coast Leisure Homes says, “Apart from the many features, the main
reason we were so excited about having the Ultimate Suite in our lineup is that we realized
that this model could and would be the beginning of a separate series of Ultimate Suite
products.” The galley features a deep double-bowl sink and an L-shape counter, so the chef
can spread out and really whip up something nice for dinner. The bathroom offers a linen
closet; the bedroom comes with a TV shelf and lots of wardrobe space that complements the
full stand-up wardrobe next to the refrigerator. Under-bed storage and basement storage
beneath the main body of the camper stand ready to accommodate more cargo. The Ultimate
Suite marks a moment in the evolutionary cycle of truck campers when a new breed comes into
existence. Possibilities of being pampered are good. West Coast Leisure Homes Ltd., (250)
