For 2013, the full-size Audi Q7 seven-passenger/three-row SUV returns with a number of updates. The V-8 engine option has been dropped, replaced by a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 with two power levels. Base engines are rated at 280 horsepower, while the upgraded version is rated 333 horsepower. Audi uses an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. A V-6 TDI diesel rated at 225 horsepower is also available, and it’s a good choice for trailerists with 406 pound-feet of torque. The diesel is also EPA rated 17/25 mpg city/highway. Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive is standard on all models of the Q7 and offers excellent traction is slippery conditions.

2013 Audi Q7 Interior

The 2013 Audi Q7 keeps things luxurious with wood, leather and plenty of room to move around.

Inside the roomy interior you’ll find rich leather, suede, and wood, for a warm and refined environment. The cabin is comfortable, too, with front seats suited to tall occupants and a second row that is adult-sized as well. The third row is best-suited to children or pets, though, with less leg room. Both the second and third rows fold down, yielding a total of 88 cubic feet of cargo space, reached via a power-operated tailgate. A large sunroof also brightens the interior.

Available safety equipment includes a lane-departure warning system, rearview camera, and blind-spot warning. Available upgrades include a Bang & Olufsen audio system, plus an internet-connected MMI interface with navigation, Google Earth, local search, and WiFi hotspot capability.

A firm, well-controlled ride comes from the four-wheel independent suspension and an air-ride system lets the driver choose sport, comfort, and automatic modes to suit driving conditions. Tow ratings up to 6,600 pounds are available with the right equipment.

As far as passenger safety is concerned, the new Q7 luxury crossover from Audi Motors has recieved top scores for both front and side impact protections from the NHTSA.
