BD Engine Brake has released a new automatic transmission valve body for 1994 to 2000 Dodge Ram pickups with 618, 47RH and 47RE transmissions and the Cummins turbodiesel engines. The valve body is said to increase transmission life and improve shifting performance by increasing the pressure applied to the torque converter lock-up clutch. The valve body also delays the shifting between first and second gears and second to third gears when under light throttle. It also improves full-throttle shifting. The valve body is also designed to provide full-time torque converter oil charging when accelerating at full throttle, thus reducing the heat produced by the torque converter. Instructions also include methods to increase oil flow to the auxiliary coolers. A new transmission filter is included along with a heavy-duty second-gear band strut and a special E-clip tool to install the strut and re-attach the Park rod. BD Engine Brake, Dept. TL, P.O.
