To change the oil, position the generator so a disposable container can be placed below it. Here the generator straddles two stools above an empty snack-food container.
Clean any dust around the edges of the air-filter compartment and wipe down the metal divider that holds the filter. Put the filter and its cover back in place and screw the generator’s side panel back on.
Unscrew the clamp that holds the spark arrester and inspect the wire mesh to ensure it is not full of carbon. If it is, use a wire brush to remove any carbon deposits.
