“For fast-acting relief, try slowing down.”
Life can seem overwhelming when tasks, errands and burdens pile up. When this happens, it’s important to take a step back and try to slow things down. Even 5 minutes of relaxation can be enough to put your brain back on the right track. And we’re especially supposed to take advantage of this time when camping and enjoying the outdoors with family and friends.
This summer, I found a new favorite spot to embrace the art of casting my worries aside… My new Slumber Hammock. The Slumber Hammock, by MAC Sports, is made from a durable, weather resistant polyester fabric. It has a permanent spot in the backyard; however, it’s also very portable and comes with on trips to the cabin and camping in the woods. The steel frame is fairly lightweight and easily collapses for transporting and stowing. It’s not something I’d recommend for backpacking adventures… but if you have a little extra room in the car or trailer, then it’s definitely worth bringing along.
One of the things I like best about the Slumber Hammock is double attachment on both ends. This design makes entering and exiting the hammock much easier than the old net style. No more acrobatic flipping and swinging around just to get in the darn thing!
These days stress seems to be more and more common, so it’s important to know when to take advantage of some quiet time to just breathe and enjoy nature. I can’t think of a better way to decompress than closing my eyes and enjoying a slight breeze and the sound of birds chirping all around me.
