Just about anyone who is paying even the slightest attention to the world of recreational vehicles these days knows that the popularity of RVing has exploded in the past few years. Much of this explosive growth has been in the market for small RVs. One such manufacturer is Travel Lite Campers, which specializes in compact, lightweight trailers and truck campers for adventure seekers who don’t want to break the bank on a truck and trailer.
Expanding its line of Falcon travel trailers, for 2018 Travel Lite introduced a smaller, lighter version called the F-Lite, starting at just 1,692 pounds dry weight. “It’s pretty much the smallest towing-class vehicle you can find on the road,” said Dustin Johns, president of Travel Lite.
Ranging from 14 to 19 feet in length, the three F-Lite models feature 6-foot, 1-inch ceiling heights and 15-inch aluminum tire rims. All three include granite-composite one-piece countertops, showers and flush toilets, refrigerators, and stainless-steel microwaves and kitchen sinks. The F-Lite comes in two exterior colors, Gloss White and Graphite Metallic, both with black trim. The trailer also has two-tone leather interiors with blue stitching and the company logo embroidered on the cushions.
Also new from Travel Lite is the 22-foot, 9-inch tandem-axle Falcon Fire F-23TH toy hauler, which weighs 3,120 pounds dry but can hold almost 4,000 pounds of cargo, according to Johns. With similar interior finishes to the F-Lite, the Fire-package F-23TH has a cherry-red exterior, a 7-foot, 8-inch-long garage, and 18-inch aluminum mag wheels with 10½-inch Michelin Premier tires.
With up to a two-year warranty, Travel Lite’s F-Lite series has a base price of $13,900, and the Falcon starts at $15,999. In business since 1998, the company broke ground last fall on a three-story office and manufacturing facility in New Paris, Indiana.
