Busbars 11/18/2008
Busbars are a vital part of any 12-volt RV electrical system that provide ground and power points, but traditional units can be difficult to work with. VTE Inc. now has a Tab-Type Busbar which employs push-on type connections that is easier to use than those with fork-type and ring-terminal-type connections. With a heavy-duty, nylon base and 1/4" stainless steel connection posts, the Tab-Type Busbar is available with 10, 20 or 30 connection points for various RV upgrade projects, and the versatile device can be mounted in any position. Each connection point is rated up to 20 amps at 12 volts DC with a maximum load of 120 amps for the busbar. It accepts 1/4" push-on, blade-receptacle-type terminals, also known as quick disconnect. The kit includes a protective cover, as well as 8-2 and 18-10 gauge terminal insulators. Contact VTE Inc., (800) 527-9256 or (231) 539-8000; sales@vteworld.com; www.vteworld.com.

Winterize Your RV 11/03/2008
As cold weather approaches, make sure your coach is winterized and that water is drained out of all the tanks, water heater and plumbing. This will prevent damage if done before temperatures plunge below freezing.
