Turbo Failures

Some turbodiesel trucks used for towing have experienced repeated turbo failures. To reduce the likelihood of failures, allow the engine to idle for several minutes before shutting off, particularly after a hard run. This allows the oil to circulate and cool the turbo. Also, consider switching to synthetic oil, which is more resistant to “coking” which is when the oil oxidizes and becomes solid in the oil passages.
