Importance of Leveling Your Trailer 03/02/2009
It’s important to have your trailer level for several reasons. Clearance under the trailer tongue, or fifth-wheel to pickup bed, and also at the rear overhang are among the most obvious concerns as you want to avoid damaging your trailer or truck when entering and exiting gas stations and other slopes. Leveling also allows proper weight balance on multiple axles, and allows your suspension to work properly. Measure from the trailer floor to ground at each end to determine level and adjust hitch height accordingly.
