April 23, 2012

The Good Sam Club recently wrapped up the first of our 2012 Rallies, presented by DISH, where 3,370 RVs all filled with happy campers packed onto the grounds at the Phoenix International Raceway. Arizona Rally-goers were royally entertained by none other than Bill Cosby, Martina McBride, Bowzer from Sha Na Na and the popular Beatles tribute band Ticket to Ride. In total, 8,000 Phoenix Rally participants shopped at more than 350 exhibitor booths, marveled at 500 new RVs on display and even test-drove a few motorhomes on the racetrack! With hundreds of informative RV-lifestyle seminars under their belts, Rally guests left the event feeling not only more knowledgeable and well entertained, but they also made new friends from across the continent.

Now it’s time to gear up for the next 2012 Good Sam Rally, presented by DISH, taking place June 21–24 in Louisville, Kentucky. This Rally venue is one of the best in North America — the Kentucky Exposition Center, where all of the activities, including the RV exhibits and evening entertainment, will be housed under one air-conditioned roof!  Best of all, the early bird registration discount price has just been extended until May 15, 2012.

Once again, the Good Sam Rally will present outstanding entertainment each evening in the expo center’s acclaimed Freedom Hall. Rally-goers can sing along to “The First Cut Is the Deepest,” “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on my Head” and “All the Gold in California,” because the headline entertainment features superstar and Grammy winner Sheryl Crow, Grammy-winning composer and musician Burt Bacharach and Country Music Association Award winners the Gatlin Brothers. They can also shake their hips to “Jailhouse Rock” during the Elvis-impersonator contest for Rally guests. Word has it that the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll himself (or a reasonable facsimile) may also be in the building!

Seminars presented by the RV community’s leaders and experts will also take place in Louisville. Propane safety, RV tires, improving engine performance, crafts, healthy cooking and eating on the road are just some of the 130-plus seminars included in the Rally fee. Kids and grandkids will be kept busy with our highly regarded children’s program. And Rally-goers’ traveling pups aren’t left out, as they compete in the popular dog show and pet parade.

Some new Rally activities were introduced in Phoenix, and they’ll be offered again in Louisville. Rally guests will have the opportunity to win thousands of dollars’ worth of prizes at daily drawings by earning “Smiles” they can enter in the raffle. We’ll also take time to salute our veterans, with members of each branch of the armed services invited to march in the procession. Don’t delay — take advantage of the early bird discount by registering prior to May 15, 2012.

The Good Sam Club also offers a third Rally in 2012, presented by DISH, November 2–4, in Daytona, Florida at the impressive Daytona International Speedway. Save money by registering for both the Louisville and Daytona Rallies today!

Note: To receive this discount, you will need to register online for both the Louisville and the Daytona Rallies separately. On the purchase of the second registration, you will need to check the indicated checkbox which will deduct the discount automatically on your registration fees.

Hi Marcus & Good Sam staff

We’re new RVrs last year and Phoenix was our first rally. We met some great people, the facility was great and we were impresses with the “meet your match” prizes that were given away. Marcus, you did a great job as MC. It was great entertainment.
There are a couple of things that would have made our camping experience better. More space between units (our awning was 3″ from our neighbor’s RV) and it would have been nice to have the portable showers available. We were at PIR for the NASCAR race a month or so earlier, had lots of room and showers. It made the experience a lot better.

    Keep up the good work!

    Hey Marcus/Good Sam,
I hope you can post my last comment as we had a possitive experiance, but pet owners need to realize that if they don’t clean up after their pets, parks will not allow us in with our pets. Already there are parks doing this.

One negative at this rally was having to look through a fence to see the entertainment.
The volunteers did a wonderful job, but they seem to have loooooooong hours. When do they get to partcipate in the rally, other than work? That is up to the volenteers to address though.
We thank you for a wonderful experience and very affordable too.

This was our first rally and we thourghly enjoyed ourselves. The weather was a bonus as it was hot and dry. Entertainment was great, but take a good cushion for the tush!! We met very interesting people, but what else can you expect…RV’ers are wonderful people. Some of the dog owners however (we own a dog) need a little help in the “concideration of others” department. PLEASE pick up after your pet. It is not difficult nor is it as grose as you may think. I own a large dog and it is super easy to pick up her pooh. If you don’t pick up after your pet, I can only hope it’s either you or your pet that steps in it!!!
The exibitors did a great job. I know we deposited our share of $$.
We look forward to the next rally that we can attend.
    Happy camping
