General Motors is preparing to build longer seven-seat versions of Chevrolet TrailBlazer
EXT and GMC Envoy XL sport-utility vehicles. The stretched TrailBlazer EXT and Envoy XL,
which are 16 inches longer than the standard models, will have a third-row seat that
increases seating capacity to seven passengers and adds 20 cubic feet of cargo space. The
extended models will have a larger rear door, a modified second-row seat that allows easy
access to the rear of the interior, and a separate heating and air-conditioning system for
rear passengers. GM will begin production by late May.
