The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has reportedly received at least
48 complaints of inadvertent rollaway in reverse involving 1995 to 1999 Grand Cherokees.
These incidents led to 32 crashes and 14 injuries, but no deaths have been reported. As a
result, NHTSA is opening an investigation that could lead to a recall. About 1.3 million of
the Grand Cherokees are affected.
