Although failing to reach a unanimous agreement, the representatives of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries meeting in Vienna agreed to increase oil production by about 1.45 million barrels per day. This figure is slightly less than is needed for a strong
rollback of prices, but should ensure an ample supply, put a stop to price increases, and
prices may even drift lower in the coming weeks.
